Wishlist // In all things Nautical

☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆

Ever since Bugsy left for Boot in MI, besides missing him a lot; I've been really into looking for things nautical themed. Now don't judge me yet, just because my SO is in the Navy, it doesn't mean I automatically got into this bandwagon. I've always been into anything Nautical; from pirates to sailors, mermaids and the sea, you  name it! Above are my wishlist for the month of September to commemorate my Bugsy and his trip in Boot and A- school.

To my Military So out there, I am in need of a MILSO buddy, I know I'm only his girlfriend but I believe we share the same compassion, pain in waiting and happiness for each other. I would love it if you can adopt me into your little community. I'm not much of a person, but I'm talkative enough to be interesting. Leave me a comment and I'm for sure going to reply!

Wishlist // Pretty in Pink

☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆

I gotta admit it. I'm into pink stuff. I'm not a girly girl but I'm just into the pink. Above are my wishlist for this month. I see letters and numbers as colors, I'm not sure if it's a condition but apparently it's called Synesthesia. Now, I'm a bit of a hypochondriac so I'm not 100% sure that I do have that condition but all I know is most of my favorite things are incorporated with the color pink.
I absolutely think these products are as cute as a button. I've had the Lush - Sex Bomb before and it smells heavenly.
Now if only I have unlimited money...

Photodiary // Sunset

I know.. I know.. it's been a long time ever since I posted...
What can I say, I usually get those "introvert" moments...

Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Introverts aren't cool nor I'm not dissing the fact of being one.

I love being an Introvert.

Being by yourself and just thinking and swimming in you own thoughts is such a majestic feeling for me. It enables me to know myself a little bit more every time I have my moments. Unfortunately, not a lot of people understand what it means to be an Introvert and an Extrovert, I would love to stay and explain myself but I guess that's for a different post for fun! Yay!

It's really hard to explain oneself when you can't even explain it to YOURSELF.
I know I'm just rambling now like I always do but what ever... here's a bunch of pictures from where I will live...

.SUNSET.

My favorite part of the day. There's something about this time of day that just feels so ... right.
The moment the Sun dives down as it swims through a rush of clouds gives of a nostalgic feeling of contentment.
I may have the same feeling like any other person out there and I'm glad. The Twilight (there I said it, fucking movie....ruining a perfect word..) *sigh*

Anyways, I don't want to make this segment a Ramble now, so here it is.. I know its very short but what the heck..

One last note, I absolutely enjoy how the mixture of lights formed with the subtle appearance  of the clouds with the hint of the sleeping sun makes the sight very .. magical that it makes me smile... makes me happy.

I hope it gives off that vibe to everyone as well...

And as I've said countless times.....

Ramble Post // A feel good moment

I gotta be honest here, I'm feeling really bummed out the past couple of weeks, my heads really been filled with thoughts and well, there seems to be no end.. just plain restless per se.
I guess because without realizing it, it's already August! I cannot believe how time flies so fast or how distracted I came to be these past couple of months. I've been wandering and going auto-pilot in life, but what really is going auto-pilot?

I truly understand and know that my grammar nor my words are not amazing, but hell whatever comes to my mind, goes.

I'm not entirely sure why but I find it really difficult to concentrate so these post are simply just rambling like crazy.

Today, I was at the subway listening to my usual podcast; "This American Life", you guys should check it out, it's really great and very interesting to listen to especially when you're traveling a long mile. Going back, I was listening to their most recent entry and it deals with views from IN here. Views of 3 different people in three different places, in three different situations. I have to say I'm not done with the pod cast yet and I've only gone up to the 2nd person, and I have to say that the more I listen to lives of different people, the broader my perspective in life changes. I'm not going to review what I heard as it might cause some offense (ha ha) but this is more rather a reflection of what I thought of it and how this topic will change in another subject, trust. As I was listening to the podcast, I thought to myself that living here in America is totally different from what is depicted, well.... anywhere.

Sure America is amazing and gives you a lot of open doors but as the old saying,  'With great power comes great responsibilities" (Spider-man moment), and well we often forget.

Neglect.

We are all alike and sometimes we forget that, my post is a feel good moment because I just realized that pain does go away and sorrow does not stay. With that being said, I want to tell my readers not a simple, "It gets better".

It gets better.

Really, it does. my previous post talks about a song from a famous rapper once again standing up to what we have all forgotten when our forefathers built a foundation to our nation... the Constitution. We have equal rights, every.single.one.of.us. but it seems like it's been forgotten, don't you think?

But it gets better.

Not all phase last, that's why it's called a phase. It's the 2013 and I'm pretty elated to say that once again, Times are changing and more and more people are adapting to change. When it comes to equal rights, it'll soon be obtained.

It does get better.

Blathering Nonsense // I can't change even if I wanted to

Growing up, I was always an open-minded person.

I guess you could say that even though my parents left me wandering about this world of ours by myself I still think I'm pretty lucky because that helped me see it in a different way, in a way how I see people and how I critique them. I'm thinking of putting this section here as a ramble but it s not just any ramble, it's a post about me blathering because of a certain thing, either object, poem, song, movie.. or just stuff..

I introduce the "Blathering Nonsense"

This came from the song by Macklemore - Same Love where it reminded me of my past. I love how this song tackled not only Same Sex Marriage but Equality altogether. I was brought by my parents thinking everyone is equal, well not really. They're like all parents, you are the greatest one, the prettiest, the smartest. I don't detest them on that logic, that's their job! But what I did appreciate about how they raised me is that they respected me, not in a sense of sheltering or ever cowering but more of a sense of understanding that I am who I am. Sadly, society thinks otherwise. Growing up, I was bullied in my own country because of my skin color which goes to show racism does not have preferences. My skin-tone is paler compared to most Filipinos but I never thought of that as a privilege but more of a coincidence that God made my family's pigment a bit more sensitive than others. Again, society thinks otherwise.

L.S.S. // Macklemore, need I say more?

A new post I guess. I first heard this on the radio but I never thought Macklemore enraptured my eardrums once again with one of his masterpieces.
I'm pretty sure you all know this song already. I know, I know, I'm pretty backwards when it comes to the newest trends but what can I do, I like staying in my room.
Anyways, without further adieu.. Same Love

This song, especially this music video not only give chills down my spine but it also invited a bunch of ninjas in my room. I cried like a baby. For some reason, Same-Sex rights always gets me, I'm not gay yet I feel so attached to the community as if I'm one. I don't hate it, I actually like it but I'm really weirded out by it, but no matter. I see everyone as equal...not unless you did something bad to me then I would retaliate as if I erased you in this worlds completely. Ahem... moving on, this music video just inspired me to tap into my creative side ha ha.

I truly have a soft spot in my heart for Same - Sex Equality, I don't know if it's because my uncle is or the fact that my mom was surrounded by them but I just feel a strong connection for them as if I'm one of them, sadly, I'm not. I guess they're just lucky.

By the way, here are the lyrics to the song which you can find anywhere in Google.

Wishlist // All I see in this world is Black & White

☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆

I've always been into Black and White things that my friends even call me the creative minimalist. I like things simple and structured yet my imagination is beyond compare. These are some of the things I wish to acquire in the near future. They are so expensive that a mere lady such as I, won't be able to afford them casually. I hope I could attain them as a gift or a prize haha.

Swimming in my Thoughts // Part One [[an instagram photodiary]]

I guess you can skip through this post since it's just a ramble but for those who decided to stay, I truly appreciate it. This post is about my thoughts for the past week, it's fairly long and for that reason, this is only PART ONE.

                 ☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆.。.:*・°☆

I cannot believe it's almost August...

A lot of things has happened in the past and I truly believe will continue on in the future. It's quite nerve-wracking to think that Time does go by so fast. You know what, scratch that... it's not that time goes by at a fast pace, it's more of like... Time does not stop for anyone.
You may want it to but you know it never will. This blog serves as my personal thought bubble that happens to be a fishbowl; a place where everyone can see. It might be scary to think that I am publicly putting my personal thoughts out there, but truth be told it isn't.

Review // Shiseido: Bio-performance Super Corrective Serum

Bonjour~
Here I am again for another review, the last one of the ones I use on this "post"
I mentioned that I use 2 eye creams for my eyes due to the fact that I have grim panda eyes or for layman terms, the infamous "Dark Circles".
I'm thankful that God has blessed me with eyeglasses because rather than seeing it as a impairment, I see it as a convenience because it hides my known Panda Eyes.

Word Cesspool // it's not the Honda that I need but the Fit that I deserve

As my very aboriginal title says, I've been obsessing over things for the past years and when I obsess over things...when I do, it always takes me a long periods of time before I can get over it.

Don't you have one of those moments where you want something and think of yourself as someone who's really materialistic because you know that you don't necessarily need it as of the moment? Well, I do but this one is different. I NEED THIS.

This blog is where you'll find my deepest yearning for some of my long term goals. As someone who's already has her driver's license, of course one of the things a girl would want is a car. I'm the type of person that would overdo than the latter, I tend to research than to be spontaneous when it comes to things I want to acquire. And for this instance and topic, I have been obsessing over The Honda Fit.

Food Trip // BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse

Howdy~ ❤
I hope you all are doing fine. I'm here again to do my insight, not necessarily a review, of one of the famed restaurants here in the US. I guess this is a continuation for this post.

234 E. Colorado Blvd.
Pasadena, CA  91101
Phone: 626.204.0845

I know it's really known but I personally have never been here.
NOTE: I always stick behind the lens unless needed, therefore, you'll see a bunch of pictures of Roka.
╰( ´◔ ω ◔ `)╯

First off since, we are under 21 [[ only a few months left though ]] we decided to have
"Mocktails"
Mocktails non-alcoholic beverage (also known as a virgin drink) is defined in the U.S. as a beverage that contains less than 0.5% alcohol by volume.[1] Non-alcoholic versions of some alcoholic beverages, such as non-alcoholic beer ("near beer") and cocktails ("mocktails"), are widely available where alcoholic beverages are sold.
[[ accor. to WIKI ]]
They're actually pretty good and who can ever beat FREE REFILLS, right?

Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade
For mine, I ordered the recommended "Sparkling Raspberry Lemonade" for the reason that I like raspberries and lemonade. The flavor tastes like Sprite with Raspberry flavoring, as someone who's easily amused, I loved it~

Peach Iced Tea
Second, for Roka. She decided to get the "Peach iced Tea". She's into teas, so why not?

For our entree, we're both not really that hungry. Our server, a nice guy I could not remember the name (sorry), vouched that the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi is a good choice and since we also mentioned we were sharing and got an interesting surprise. We got 2 plates! He split the plates in half which for me, I find really enticed.

"Hawaiian Mahi Mahi"
"I want the Mahi Mahi but I'm not very hungry so can I just get the one Mahi?"

Description on the website - Oven roasted, glazed mahi-mahi served over stir-fried vegetables and roasted pineapple fried rice mixed with a spicy soy ginger sauce then topped with slivered snow peas, red bell peppers and sesame seeds.
PRICE
FOOD QUALITY
OVERALL

Truth be told, they weren't kidding when they said that the Mahi Mahi is an Enlightned Entree for it really felt light. So we decided to order an Appretizer that was served AFTER the entree. Call it OCD but I was a bit taken aback but whatever we ordered the Mahi first so it kind of made sense.
ヽ(・_・;)ノ

"Spinach Stuffed Mushrooms"

Look at that feta Cheese melt
It comes in a plate of 6, so it's enough for a 2 person serving
Description on the website - Filled with a blend of fresh spinach, BJ's own spinach and artichoke dip, feta cheese, chopped mushrooms, herb bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese, then sprinkled with crispy bread crumbs and drizzled with lemon pesto sauce.
PRICE
FOOD QUALITY
OVERALL

I really loved the mushrooms and would definitely recommend it to anyone with a savory palette, the tender texture of the mushrooms and the scrumptious kick of the spinach combined together just makes your mouth-water that is then satisfied by the exotic flavor of the lemon pesto sauce. Truly amazing~

{Since I'm doing this a lot, I'm making this a semi-permanent thing on my posts}

I find the ceiling quite minimalist-friendly. I adore these type of structures.

Roka and I waiting to be seated.

Another shot of the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi.

FINE, last picture...

If it isn't stressed enough, my best friend and I had a blast at BJ's and we'll definitely go back. the Hawaiian Mahi Mahi is great and looks quite easy to make, so we'll be attempting that at home when the Mahi season dies down, which is never.. so yay! \(T∇T)/

Once again, whoever just happens to visit or stumble onto my blog, I would like to say thank you, I really do appreciate it.

Places // doMINIONnating Arclight

Hello everyone~
I guess this post is more about Word Cesspool than Places but whatever, I've never been to Arclight near my neighborhood.
I've always been so cheap about my movies but this time it's different.
The ever famous Arclight cinemas sign.
My best friend was feeling under the weather and like any other best friends out there, what do you do? You try EVERYTHING. \(^ ^)/

Roka!
When we went inside, I was expecting a lot of people like what you see in other movie theaters such as AMC or Pacific Theaters, but I was wrong; the place only has a fair amount of people. Once inside, you'll see a full bar on the far left from the entrance and since Roka and I are both under 21, we just went straight to the line. Also on the left just after the bar part of the theater, you'll see this amazing wall of movies that illuminates the whole place.

From old to new movies!

I was dead wrong when I said it's not crowded, apparently this theater does most sales online, therefore, even though it was only 7:30 PM, we reserved the 9:45 PM one so we could get the good seats. We decided to watch... Yes, you guessed it "Despicable Me 2".
I believe if anyone's feeling down and blue, the minions will turn that upside-down for you!

 (〃 ̄ω ̄〃ゞ
I have a thing with clocks. I think they're just so sophisticated.
The theater was pretty massive compared to the other ones and it only has 8 mins of trailers! Kinda saves you a whole lotta' time if you're not really into trailers (which I am, sadly) but yeah, afterwards we were instructed to turn off our phones so here's a snap of us before the movie.

Cheese!
: EXTRA :

On our way to dinner, I forced her to pose

Smile :D
If you don't do anything whenever your friend, especially your best friend is down, then shame on you really... Shame on you.

A Best friend is someone who will be there even though you're gross as a slug, I swear. They will accept everything about you. If they don't, trust that they will try to tell you XD.

Anyways, moving on.. I decided to treat her to the movies whilst she treats us for dinner. Roka is somewhat like a sister to me, a confidant I can trust on. My Ride or Die chick ( ^ _ - )

I think the best way to end this post, is to put most of my favorite quotes about best friends.
I hope you like them

Review // Dermalogica - Total Eye Care with spf 15

Hey everyone~
So as promised on this post, I am back for another review from one of the staple products I use for my dehydrated face for this Summer Season. I am going to review ...

"Dermalogica - Total Eye Care w/ SPF 15 "

This tube is actually pretty small as it came from the Dermalogica Dry Skin Kit at Ulta for about $37.00, not bad for a whole beginner set including cleanser, exfoliate, moisturizer and a toner along with a "gift".
I actually bought this kit way back so I apologize that I don't have any pictures of them.

Out of all of them, I really like this one. It came in a 4 mL tube [i know, it's pretty minuscule] but I've been using it for about 2-3 months daily and I think it's time to replace it.

Really cute and tiny.
The tube is permanently closed and to be able to open it you have to cut a tiny hole up on the tip of the nozzle.  Since the material is pretty thick, it doesn't spill like I thought it would.

DIRECTIONS: Gently pat around eye area. Use daily.

WARNINGS: For external use only, not to be swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water. If irritation develops, discontinue use. Do not use on infants under 5 months old.

:Here's how I use it:

I squeeze out a dollop of the product onto my ring finger and pat it directly on my eyelids and/or black circle area until its fully blended to your skin.

for picture reference, I used my hand.

The actual product is pretty thick like a BB cream but easier to apply than a concealer. It's not as heavy as such, although I find it really hard to blend when you're in a hurry to catch your train or just really late with anything.

The product is good for the whole day. For a sample, it really impressed me. The SPF in the product boosts my confidence for facing the harsh summer sun as well, since I don't have to put sunblock on my eye area every time I go out. It doesn't have a foul smell of sunblock which I like really much.

This product did not give me milia

PRICE :
-- For the price of $37.00, I believe there are much better products, although this ones amazing, it really isn't  frugal-friendly.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT :
-- The SPF. Even though it only offers up to 15, it's still a pretty decent amount to put in your eye.
-- The size. It's very compact and travel-sized good if you're always on the go.
--  The smell is amazing. It smells like powder. You can't really smell it that much tough since its applied on your eye area... haha.
--  The tube makes it easy to put on the ring finger. One squeeze and you're off.

WHAT I  DON'T LIKE ABOUT IT :
-/- Since it doesn't have a cap or any form of closing, it kind of bothered me whenever I use it.
-/- When you're almost done with the tube, it gets harder and harder to use; imagine when you're running out of toothpaste but with a thicker material for a tube.
-/- It's hard to blend in and have to at least spend a couple of minutes to dry before you apply foundation which gets very annoying over time.

WOULD I REPURCHASE IT?
--  Sadly, no. I love this product but as I said before in my Clinique post, I have an ongoing search but for now this will do. And for $37.00 for a whole kit, I believe this is a good product to try out.

Altogether, I am definitely elated to have discovered Dermalogica, it's one of the very few products I've used that didn't give me any allergic effects. Clinique is one of them too but my main problem area are my eyes. I have panda eyes. Luckily, my glasses cover them like a concealer would but sometimes it gets to you, y'know. Therefore, I am still searching how to at least alleviate these problem eyes of mine. Sadly, Dermalogica  is a good but mediocre product. I would recommend it for beginners but if you're a bit more on the experienced side who's looking for an affordable skin care, The Dry Kit is not for you. I heard that they have the Age Smart Starter Kit. I would love to give it a try, but later on when the price is right.

As always,

THANK YOU FOR TUNING IN ☆彡
