Review // Shiseido: Bio-performance Super Corrective Serum

Bonjour~

Here I am again for another review, the last one of the ones I use on this "post". 

I mentioned that I use 2 eye creams for my eyes due to the fact that I have grim panda eyes or for layman terms, the infamous "Dark Circles".

I'm thankful that God has blessed me with eyeglasses because rather than seeing it as a impairment, I see it as a convenience because it hides my known Panda Eyes.

Review // Dermalogica - Total Eye Care with spf 15

So as promised on this post, I am back for another review from one of the staple products I use for my dehydrated face for this Summer Season. I am going to review ...

"Dermalogica - Total Eye Care w/ SPF 15 "

This tube is actually pretty small as it came from the Dermalogica Dry Skin Kit at Ulta for about $37.00, not bad for a whole beginner set including cleanser, exfoliate, moisturizer and a toner along with a "gift". 

I actually bought this kit way back so I apologize that I don't have any pictures of them.

Out of all of them, I really like this one. It came in a 4 mL tube [i know, it's pretty minuscule] but I've been using it for about 2-3 months daily and I think it's time to replace it.

Really cute and tiny.

The tube is permanently closed and to be able to open it you have to cut a tiny hole up on the tip of the nozzle.  Since the material is pretty thick, it doesn't spill like I thought it would. 

DIRECTIONS: Gently pat around eye area. Use daily. WARNINGS: For external use only, not to be swallowed. Avoid contact with eyes. If contact occurs, flush thoroughly with water. If irritation develops, discontinue use. Do not use on infants under 5 months old.

:Here's how I use it: 

I squeeze out a dollop of the product onto my ring finger and pat it directly on my eyelids and/or black circle area until its fully blended to your skin.

for picture reference, I used my hand.

The actual product is pretty thick like a BB cream but easier to apply than a concealer. It's not as heavy as such, although I find it really hard to blend when you're in a hurry to catch your train or just really late with anything.

The product is good for the whole day. For a sample, it really impressed me. The SPF in the product boosts my confidence for facing the harsh summer sun as well, since I don't have to put sunblock on my eye area every time I go out. It doesn't have a foul smell of sunblock which I like really much.

This product did not give me milia. 

PRICE : ★★★☆☆            -- For the price of $37.00, I believe there are much better products, although this ones amazing, it really isn't  frugal-friendly. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT :           -- The SPF. Even though it only offers up to 15, it's still a pretty decent amount to put in your eye.           -- The size. It's very compact and travel-sized good if you're always on the go.           --  The smell is amazing. It smells like powder. You can't really smell it that much tough since its applied on your eye area... haha.           --  The tube makes it easy to put on the ring finger. One squeeze and you're off. WHAT I  DON'T LIKE ABOUT IT :         -/- Since it doesn't have a cap or any form of closing, it kind of bothered me whenever I use it.           -/- When you're almost done with the tube, it gets harder and harder to use; imagine when you're running out of toothpaste but with a thicker material for a tube.           -/- It's hard to blend in and have to at least spend a couple of minutes to dry before you apply foundation which gets very annoying over time.            WOULD I REPURCHASE IT?         --  Sadly, no. I love this product but as I said before in my Clinique post, I have an ongoing search but for now this will do. And for $37.00 for a whole kit, I believe this is a good product to try out.

Altogether, I am definitely elated to have discovered Dermalogica, it's one of the very few products I've used that didn't give me any allergic effects. Clinique is one of them too but my main problem area are my eyes. I have panda eyes. Luckily, my glasses cover them like a concealer would but sometimes it gets to you, y'know. Therefore, I am still searching how to at least alleviate these problem eyes of mine. Sadly, Dermalogica  is a good but mediocre product. I would recommend it for beginners but if you're a bit more on the experienced side who's looking for an affordable skin care, The Dry Kit is not for you. I heard that they have the Age Smart Starter Kit. I would love to give it a try, but later on when the price is right.

Review // Clinique: dramatically different moisturizing lotion

As promised, i did make a review for one of the few staple products I use for my desiccated face.

Just a little background about my face: 

I have an Asian skin. Dry and Sensitive at its finest. 

I never thought I have dry skin since my family has acne-prone and oily face types. Pretty gullible of me, I know, but I was never into these things until recently. My face is at it's driest during the winter but still as crackly during the rest of the season. My dad, who has the oiliest face I know in my family, kept on insisting I use the products he uses when I first encountered a pimple. Being so foolish and obedient, I kept on using skincare products for oily and acne-prone face types, hence, I developed a very sensitive skin.

I went years avoiding skin products because I would always have dreadful reactions to it such as redness, breakouts and itchiness.

This is a one-time post only.

Please do take note that this is the *LOTION* and not the GEL as they are for  2 different face type.

This review is only for Very Dry or Dry-combination face types.

"Clinique - dramatically different moisturizing lotion"

This product comes in a 4.2 FL / 125 mL bottle with a pump.

DESCRIPTION ON THE BOTTLE SAYS:   - Works to soften, smooth and improve the texture and condition of your skin. Apply twice a day. For best results, use after Facial Soap and Clarifying Lotion.

A pump or two is really all you need for a full coverage. it gives pretty fair amount and it has a very subtle smell of water. The smell isn't really off-putting as it reminds me of water whenever I'm applying it to my face.

Unlike most moisturizing lotions, the texture of this product is very watery and has a soapy quality to it as you apply it. The product, as labeled on their website description, is a "...lightweight "moisture drink" slips easily onto the skin and absorbs quickly, leaving skin comfortable, soft, and healthy looking." 

Alas, its time to end this post with a conclusion.

PRICE : ★★★☆☆            -- For the price of $25.00, I believe there are much better products.  Not really frugal-friendly. WHAT I LIKE ABOUT IT :         -- The simplicity of using it. Just 2 pumps, a little rubs & you're good to go.            --  The smell is not as potent as the other moisturizers.            --  It doesn't leave your skin sticky like most. Very lightweight to the face as well.           -- The packaging is very sturdy, you cannot imagine how many times I have dropped this bottle, it's pathetic. WHAT I  DON'T LIKE ABOUT IT :         -/- The pump is very unhygienic, I don't know about you guys, but I like my stuff clean and it usually leaves a mess when I use it..           -/- The cap is very inconvenient (I'm just nitpicking right now) but I usually don't have time, so I bring the bottle out with me most of the time. Since the cap isn't attached to anything but the bottle itself when you're closing it, it's very easy to lose. I'm very fortunate that I haven't lost it yet.            WOULD I REPURCHASE IT?         --  Sadly, no. I like this moisturizer more than I had hoped but with the price that it comes with, it's really not fitting with my budget. I would suggest this to people who just wants the job done (again, for DRY skin ya'll), and is very sensitive to potent smelling fragrances in a skin product.

I have been using this product for quite awhile now and as someone who has a sensitive, it's been really doing it's job. With regular use, I believe this 125 mL bottle can last up to a year. I've been using this product for 5 months and I'm already half-way done.

As you can see I am half-way done with the bottle *_*

Altogether, I'm glad I got to try this product out. For the price, it's really not that bad. It does the job pretty well. Not sticky and is perfect for the summer. 

I will keep looking for other moisturizers though because my skin is Very Dry, whereas this product is focused on Very Dry to Dry-Combination skin which is in-between.

I am Filipino. 

Let me be one of the few people to say that Filipinos are Asian and not Pacific-Islanders. 

You may or may not agree with me but it's true. Unfortunately, this post is not about that. 

I will discuss that later on.

Today, I will talk about a famous restaurant here in California, not so much back in sweet, ol' Philippines called 

Goldilocks

Back in the Philippines, Goldilocks is famously known for a local bakeshop where you can usually get your last-minute birthday cakes. [[Yup! I know Dad, you forgot my bday again (ʃƪ ˘ ³˘) ]]

Any cow, here in Cerritos lies the famous restaurant.

From fairy tale to famous Filipino bakery grail

I was never really a fan of Goldilocks 5 years back but I am a sucker for sweets so I gave it another shot.

In the Philippines, there are numerous house garages turned to small cafeterias. For someone who was born and raised there, you get that nostalgic feeling whenever you encounter a place where it reminds you of home and that is exactly the atmosphere that Goldilocks gives you when you first enter the restaurant.

Once inside, you are then greeted by a host that will escort you to your table. Around you, you'll see copious 'kababayans' (fellow Filipino) eating with their family. This place really gives off the sense of home.

Filipinos, filipinos everywhere!

Goldilocks' icon is nonetheless the famous fairy tale character herself, as shown below. Kind of creepy but you get used to it.

I don't know how they did it; how they owned such a famous character but they did.
And for that I salute you.

A waiter then approaches you in your table and gives you the menu. A mid-size menu full of  the restaurant's specialties.

For a native, you will see very familiar words in the menu, delicacies served in a normal Filipino household such as Pancit (Noodles), Sinigang (Sour soup), Nilaga (Stew) and even Lechon Kawali (Deep fried Pork belly)

The menu has english descriptions for non-native speakers. Very convenient!

Just a brain blast moment; I didn't know that Filipino's have soul food. Very interesting. 

Crispy Dinuguan - Crispy Pork Blood Stew for your soul, anyone?

Once done ordering, the waiter then distributes the tableware suited for what you ordered.

I think this setting is really dashing.

Unfortunately, I was too hungry to even take a picture of what we got. It's simply Fried Rice but of course, Filipino-style which means it's sweet and just right for my palette.

For desserts, my friend got an Avocado Chiller which looks definitely refreshing

Avocado Chiller - Avocados, silky evaporated milk, tapioca with shaved ice all over.

And as for myself, I got the traditional Halo-Halo which means Mix.
Very tantalizing to the eyes and very refreshing to the tummy.

Halo-Halo - (Mix) consists of a shaved ice and evaporated milk MIXed with a variety of sweet beans, plantains, nata de coco, dash of pounded crushed young rice (pinipig) and a scoopful of flan and/or purple yam ice cream or purple yam itself.

Top view of this majestic masterpiece before it is then pulverized to mix  thoroughly for  fun.

Last but will never be the least, if there's one thing that Goldilocks never got rid of; its the bakery.

Still the top leading bakery in the Filipino community, showcases of assorted cakes and sweets lined up on the glass cases waiting to be taken home.

For pricing, it's not that bad. Brazo de Mercedes (Rolled Meringue cake with Custard Filling) - a famous, Spanish-named  roll has taken its toll in my child-like heart. This roll has been my cake since I can remember.

Of course, there are the grand cakes suited for every birthday need!

I like this one, very simple yet sophisticated.

Price: ★★★☆☆

• For something you can simply make at home, the price is good for reminiscing old times.

Food Rating: ★★★☆☆

• Knocked out 2 stars because again, you can try and make your own recipes for these dishes. This place is meant for those who wants to reminisce home or those Filipinos who wanted their Non-native  friends to have their own Pinoy experience.

Overall Service/Experience: ★★★★☆

• For someone who cannot cook that well, I love this place as it reminds me of home. 

Would I come back?

• In a heartbeat. Goldilocks has a special place in every Filipino's heart, especially mine.

Places // It's a Sundate! [ Airsoft --Tac City ]

Hi everyone!
I hope you had a great 4th of July. I had a great time with my friends, we god burgers and pasta. I should be able to post pictures up in the future. As for now, my Sunday is a constant date for Bugsy and I.

For the past 3 or 4 months, we have been going on dates, more specifically on Sundays, hence, a Sundate. Every Sundate isn't your regular date though; no, it's not some romantic getaway at a beach nor a romantic dinner, we're actually going to this place called Tac City... Yup, our sundate is Airsoft, Close Quarter Combat Airsoft, that is.

I started playing with Bugs last 2 months ago, it was pretty cool and intense. Basically, its everything you're going to expect in such a strenuous activity. At first, I never thought I would enjoy this game but to be honest, I do.

Tac City has 2 locations one in El Monte (north) and one in Fullerton (south). The one we always go to is at El Monte and in a nutshell, this place is a gem.

Any cow... they have a website right here +TAC CITY+ where they give all the information you need and all the good stuff of the place.

Why would I go here?

They have really good reviews at Yelp as well. In all honesty, I think this place just solved the problems of people of all ages. Wait! hear me out.. Okay;

• For Parents - leave your older boys (and girls) here to have some real action fun rather than at a daycare for more than HALF the price; leaving you and your sweetheart some quiet time. [[Yes, I did my research]]  Tac City is open from 2 PM - 10 PM and with the time range per game, kids wouldn't even notice the time difference, I know I don't whenever I play. Minimum age to play is 10 years old.
• For Girls -  if you're into guns and well, bluntly spaking, Call of Duty or games likewise, this game just gives you the thrill of your life because this gives you the same level of mentality plus the interaction that any online games wouldn't
• For Guys - GUNS

This activity doesn't only contribute in physical activity but it also promotes friendship and teamwork between each other. 

The Difference of Airsoft and Paintball

1. First of all, it doesn't hurt as much. In Paintball, you have to admit that it hurts like a bugger! It swells and it lies in your body like a moon crater that it is, where in Airsoft; yeah it hurts too but the level of pain in comparison, (as a woman who does not like pain) is like comparing any pinch to well, a paintball.
2. Second, the GUNS. In Paintball, you have the stationary gun where there's a hollow bottle or tube container [Hopper] for the balls and well, a barrel and of course, an air tank. Paintball guns function using carbon dioxide (CO₂) or any compressed gas. Airsoft gun are based on the real life guns from 1911's, Glocks and Baretta for pistol to M14, M16, and AK's for AEG. For powering the gun it uses 2 different methods; electric (battery-powered) or green gas (either CO₂  or propane) The choices are truly unlimited, well, at least up to whatever model of gun is out in the market, there's an Airsoft model for it which just makes the game more realistic.
3. Third, Sound Quality. I don't know about you guys but Bugs, and most of the guys I know who plays Airsoft, tends to lean more on how authentic the game is to a real combat and one of the qualities that differ one to the other is the sound it produces. You may or may not agree with me here, but for me, the sound quality of the game just makes it more enjoyable.
4. The GUNS [again]. I cannot stress enough the realism of both parties, comparing Airsoft guns to Paintball guns is ... apples to bananas, just truly 2 different things.
5. Price. Very, very huge difference. Airsoft is waaayy cheaper than paintball. 
6. Last but never the least, it is more strategic. Airsoft is far closer to the truth enough to train military courses whilst Paintball is for teenagers who wanted to play where they are unable to lie because of the paint.

Let me be the first one to say though, that Airsoft is not the greatest game in the world when it comes to people running with toy guns. Airsoft uses the 'Honor System' which means there are no physical evidence (unless you're 10 feet apart) but hey, a lot of people are still playing the game, which goes to show that the System works.

All-in-all, this Airsoft or Paintball, it just all depends on your liking. Money wise, you're better of with Airsoft.

Review // Black & Decker Dustbuster Cordless Vacuum Pt.2

I have never done a review before but here we go. This is from my previous post about my purchase which can be found here. 

This post might be short but I'd rather focus on one thing at a time ... And now, the review;

Pros:

• very affordable if you're broke as a joke like me
• its very compact and easy to assemble which makes it very convenient when you're too lazy to clean but wants to get the job done. 
• very easy to clean
• the filter can be used multiple times in which I think is a blessing.
• the nozzle can be adjusted or elongated rather which us a very good function if you're trying to clean hard to reach spots.
• the functionality is very simple as it only has one function -- ON or OFF.

Cons:

• its gets a tad bit heavy over time and since you're bending down, it gets tiring and makes your back ache.
• you have to charge it overnight once you first get it before you could be able to use it (not entirely sure if it's the usual norm but that's  a con for me since I wouldn't be able to use it right away!)
• you have to charge it all the time. The longeviity of the sucker depends on how long its been charged.

Overall: [[ ★★★☆☆ ]]

• Overall, I knocked two stars out because of the heaviness, but other than that, the price is very forgiving and the ability to clean both hardwood and carpet is impressive.

Would I recommend it?

• A little bit of Yes and No. 
• Yes, It's very cheap compared to others and can suffice if you have a small room like mine, but if you're thinking for an alternative to an actual size vacuum; I would recommend just getting a full size one if you can afford a few more bucks. Although, the capability of the Black and Decker is phenomenal compared to generic brands plus the brand is quite trusted; I guess it only depends on your taste. °ω°

All-in-all, I'm glad I purchased this product even with all the flaws it comes with, you can't win them all right?
 You can easily buy this at any home store and I'm definite that you guys will appreciate the hard work this little sucker is going to offer.
